Does it do it automatically? This is the last issue I am having from my windows 7 upgrade and would really appreciate any assistance.

It fixed mine, too, thank you! Actually while setting it to compatibility mode, follow 6 and set it to run as dv000 as well.
Except this time instead of using the restore CDs I put Windows7 in without all the bundled software that came with the original “out of the box” state. While you are at it, download the other drivers as well to take care of future problems.
None of them can be updated from the manager because it cannot find the drivers online. I have previously read the compatibility thread before and understand the part about changing it to vista for the compatibilty part but how do Gp actually run it after that?

You can try installing Windows 7 Compatible chipset driver from the following weblink:. Base System Device Missing Drivers? Similar help and support threads. The time now is I believe the first two have to do with nvidea but everytime I try to download the driver it does not work.
Downloaded that, ran the install and im still facing the same issue. Download and install the ones I mentioned above. There is also a Windows 7 Upgrade Guide Here that may help with other drivers needed.
